Broadband 'beneficial' to small businesses
Small businesses have been urged by an expert in the IT and technology industry that using broadband is highly likely to benefit their firm.
Business manager for Small Business Computing Brett Marino has stated that in normal circumstances broadband can "always benefit a small business" even if it is a company with only a couple of employees.
"The question most small businesses need to ask themselves is what is the cost of not having broadband and how is that affecting their business," he commented.
He advised companies to use a reputable internet service provider to avoid technical issues and equipment failure.
Mr Marino lists one potential advantage of broadband as simply being able to use email services and the telephone at the same time, although he describes it as much more than a "quick and cost-effective way of downloading large files".
Another plus point is the fixed cost of broadband, meaning an organisation will be to access the internet for an unlimited amount of time for a standard monthly fee.
BT Business released research this year showing that 14 per cent of UK small businesses do not use the broadband, while 86 per cent do.
