Organic search engine marketing 'on the increase'
Search engine optimisation specialist Vertical Leap has reported growing take-up of its services.
The firm stated that it has just added a new client to its portfolio of firms eager to improve their organic search engine marketing.
While some firms pay to have top billing on search engines such as Google, many are making efforts to improve their ranking in the search results organically, in order to raise their online profile and attract more people to the site.
Gina Bray, sales director at Vertical Leap, commented: "Time was that paid for advertising was just that – throw enough money at the situation and you'd stand a reasonable chance of reasonable positioning."
She added that by applying traditional search engine marketing processes to landing pages, firms can raise their profile and have relevant and themed content brought up on screen.
Vertical Leap added that the process is also beneficial to the consumer, as having correctly themed content can improve the user experience and make them more likely to make a purchase from the website they are looking at.
However, Seth Rosenblatt, vice-president of business development at Optimost, recently told IT Week that many firms are not improving their sites' functionality, despite investing in drawing web users to the portals through means such as search engine optimisation.
